On a rich gold tissue, the atelier lays an asymmetrical pattern of kora, dabka, sequins, naqshi and betki, each element sewn up to perfection while delicate threads in reds and oranges warm the metal — and the back is styled with strings of stones and pearls, so the piece finishes as carefully as it begins.
Appliquéd silk borders discipline the sleeves, and the dupatta alternates red and orange pattis with sequins between, closed with kiran all around. Handwork in this many registers is slow, deliberate and made for the wedding season proper.
In its gold-and-flame palette it sits naturally at a nikkah or engagement evening, and photographs with real depth under event lighting.
