Raani is woven before it is stitched: khaadi silk carrying criss-cross, zigzag, boti and pillar patterns in gold, cut into a raspberry pink flared dress with a long V-neck bodice worked in exquisite gold craft. Sabeena Farooq wore Raani for the RJ’s Pret campaign, photographed against raw stone where the pink burns brightest.
The organza dupatta is a study of its own — stitched with three types of borders and booti, with motifs and sequin chan throughout, finished in kiran along the edge. A matching potli pouch completes the set, and the colour can be customised on request, so Raani can be made in the shade you intend to be remembered in.
