The Mosaic Shawl is the Ritz collection at its most patient: a deep ground scattered with fine gold points, resolving at the fall into a full mosaic of embroidered tiles — rose, crimson and gilt set diamond by diamond inside metallic borders. Work of this density asks for weeks, and it reads that way in the hand.
In its teal green register the ground deepens the metalwork rather than competing with it. Draped over the shoulder it dresses a plain outfit completely; folded over the arm it finishes a winter wedding look, warmth and art in the same fold.
