Rosette is built on a subtle silver-and-gold khaddi net jacket, then embroidered until the base almost disappears — the finest appliqués in red, pink, purple and green, worked through with Swarovski, kat daana and kora. Work of this density is why the piece is made in small numbers; it is, as the atelier puts it, a beauty to watch and a treat to wear.
A printed chiffon dupatta softens the metallics, and the plazo pants answer with a criss-cross jaal ending in scalloped, asymmetrical painchas — each of the three pieces carrying its own share of the work.
It sits naturally at wedding formals and festive evenings, and under lamplight the khaddi net glows rather than glitters.
